Overview
The process for ensuring Verified Warranty Inspection IG units meet Amsco’s Glass Inspection Criteria.
Definitions
Verified Warranty Inspection is a quality control process at Amsco that ensures insulated glass (IG) units meet the company's Glass Inspection Criteria through multiple inspection checkpoints. The process involves:
- Application of a special sticker to the IG unit that requires three separate initials from different team leads and supervisors
- Sequential inspections at IG Lines, CGA (Custom Glass Assembly), and either Glass or Final supervisor stages
- Final verification at the Delivery Wrap Area to ensure all required inspections and initials are completed before the unit can ship
This multi-stage inspection system provides warranty protection by confirming that units meet quality standards at each critical production stage.
Steps
Step 1: IG Lines
- Following the Glass Labels process, the Verified Warranty Inspection sticker will be applied to the IG unit.
- The team lead of the IG line will ensure the unit meets Amsco’s Glass Inspection Criteria.
- The IG line team lead will initial the Verified Warranty Inspection sticker on the designated line for all units requiring an initial.
- The IG line team lead will apply an Amsco Windows Glass Inspection Criteria sticker to the IG unit.
